This 1907 home, meticulously preserved and restored, showcases the region's abundant heart pine. The original seven-room layout features three rooms on either side of the central hall, with one at the hall's end. Heart pine graces the floors throughout. The walls were perfectly stripped to bare wood before painting. A wraparound porch encircles three sides, while the original 13-foot ceilings retain their grandeur in the hall, having been lowered elsewhere. Entering through the original, refinished front door, the Great Hall impresses with beadboard walls, diagonally set wainscoting, and a heavy chair rail. The 13-foot tongue-and-groove ceiling complements the forest green and flax color scheme. The parlor to the right boasts antique yellow walls. To the left, the guest bedroom, often reserved for visiting preachers, is painted khaki and adorned with Magnolia-inspired window treatments. The second bedroom on the left, destined to be the "Blue Room," features cream walls adorned with blue toile. These bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and a walk-in closet centered around a now-covered double fireplace. The dining room, originally a bedroom, now features Tibetan Red walls and a French door illuminating the hall. Once a bedroom, the kitchen is painted sour lime with white cabinetry and Corian countertops. Its heart pine floors, salvaged from an old farm, add a touch of rustic charm. A new sunroom addition, designed to harmonize with the original structure, features a bay window and heart pine floors from the same farm. The original sitting room, once the dining room, now opens off the kitchen. This flax-colored room, with a bay window and deck views, leads to the primary bedroom, originally the kitchen. Green Tea walls characterize this space, with a subtle pink accent above the chair rail. The primary bathroom features double walk-in closets, double vanities, a large walk-in shower, and a walk-through tub. A small hallway off the sitting room leads to the Talmadge Room, which features a wall of bookshelves. The home has a large garage with 2 bays for vehicles and 1 for a golf cart/ATV. Above the garage is a spacious area that could be used for storage, a crafting room, or a game room. The original well is now incorporated into the porch. A deck overlooks a large live oak tree.
